We want to thank Carole Bradt for all
her support to Safe Haven in 2010, as well as the prior 7 years. In December, Carole coordinated our Gift-Wrapping
Project at Tanger Outlet Malls again,a fundraiser with extraordinary volunteer participation. Carole organized the
wrapping services at two locations in the Tanger
Malls, and she managed the volunteers who kindly took the 184 wrapping shifts over the 12 days before Christmas. In October, Carole managed the merchandise and certificates
donated by individuals and businesses for the Cause 4 Paws silent auction. She opened up her home for storage of all
the art, fine wines and spirits, and other items donated for the auction. She organized and coordinated the tracking
system for the merchandise and for the certificates for services, vacation packages and restaurant meals. On the days
before the auction, Carole worked night and day to coordinate the bid process for hundreds of auction items. Carole's
patience, good humor, and energy kept us all going as we prepared for Safe Haven's biggest fundraiser of the year.
All year long, Carole coordinates
the volunteers who regularly pick up the donations in Safe Haven's canisters at businesses all over the county.
She counts all those coins and dollars dropped into the canisters and gets the funds to the bank. In addition,
Carole is Safe Haven's representative at the monthly Poker at the Beach fundraiser for Safe Haven. Carole was
the first donor of a dog room in the sanctuary. She has 2 dogs and feeds a feral cat colony.
Carole had an impressive
career in genetics research, and she serves as the Academic Committee Chair for Health/Science at the
Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning of the University of Delaware in Lewes. Safe Haven is proud to have the
support of Carole Bradt, a Renaissance Volunteer if there ever was one!
