Boots and Buddy are best friends. Buddy, an Australian
Shepherd, was rescued by Safe Haven from a neglect situation and now has his forever home with a Safe Haven volunteer.
Boots the cat was also rescued by the volunteer.
Life Preserver Dog Program
Since 2008, we have been transporting
homeless dogs and chained dog to No-Kill shelters In Northern New England where the demand for dogs in shelters exceed the
supply. As of January 1, 2011, the new Delaware Shelter Standards law mandates that shelters offer animals to rescue
groups and foster homes before putting them down. We are pulling them from Kent County SPCA
and placing them in foster homes whenever possible or boarding them in local kennels. Fosters may apply for adoption. Click for more information.

Pet Food PantryWe
collect pet food for people who need help feeding their animals. Our outreach efforts in the community have resulted
in many requests from many caretakers of stray cat colonies. At this time we are providing food to over 500 stray/barn
cats, and therefore we are constantly needing to replenish our supplies of cat food. Click for more information.
